Dr. Ashok Kumar is the Director of Nanotechnology Research and Education Center (NREC) and also a tenured Full Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Florida, Tampa. Dr. Kumar is also affiliated faculty member of Clean Energy Research Center (CERC) and USF Nanomedicine Research Center. Before joining USF, Dr. Kumar was employed as tenure-track faculty in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of South Alabama. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (Kanpur), and Ph.D. from the North Carolina State University, Raleigh. His research is focused towards the development of nanotechnology based novel materials for multifunctional applications. His other interests include K-12 educational outreach, gender and science education and nanotechnology industrial outreach. He has published two textbooks, edited seven proceeding books, 12 book chapters including 200 peer reviewed articles. His excellence as a researcher has been recognized by a number of honors, including ASM Fellow (2007), AAAS Fellow (2010), AIMBE Fellow (2015), ASM-IIM Visiting Lecture Award (2007), Theodore and Venette Askounes Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award (2006), USF Outstanding Faculty Research Achievement Award (2004), USF President Faculty Excellence Award (2003), NSF Faculty Early CAREER Development Award (2000), National Research Council Twining Fellowship Award (1997) and, NSF and DOE EPSCoR Young Investigator Awards (1996-97). Dr. Wonbong Choi is a tenured Full Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and also Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering at University of North Texas, Denton. Dr. Choi obtained his Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering from the North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 1997. After his PhD, Dr. Choi worked in the industry research laboratory as a senior researcher and project manager at Samsung (SAIT). He was a leading scientist in the "Carbon Nanotubes for Tera-level Nano electronics Device" project. He was also employed as tenure-track associate professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the Florida International University in 2003. His research focused on the development of nanotechnology based novel materials and their applications. One of the remarkable achievements in his research career was the invention of "Carbon Nanotube Field Emission Display", which was reported in Science and was covered extensively by news media around the world. He is credited for developing the single molecular DNA-sensor, high efficiency Li-ion battery based on carbon nanotubes, graphene based flexible field emission display, vertical CNT-Field Effect Transistor and CNT based non-volatile memory devices. He has successfully conducted numerous granted projects funded by AFOSR, NSF, SRC, DOE and Samsung. Dr. Choi is the author/co-author of over 70 patents, 1 book ("GRAPHENE" CRC Press), 10 book chapters, over 200 publications, which includes over 130 peer-reviewed journal articles and over 60 conference proceedings. His research articles have been cited over 5,000 times with H-index of 36. Wei Wu, Professor of Pharmaceutics at Fudan University School of Pharmacy, received his B.S. (1992) and M.S. Dr.Wu current research interest is focused on oral drug delivery systems with emphasis on enhancing the oral bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs and biomacromolecules using nanoscale delivery carriers. Dr. Xinming Huang is an Associate Professor at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Dr. Huang area of expertise is in computer engineering.
